Mark 14:62 KJV
And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
The church of the Lord Jesus christ is in a battle and the tenets of victory for this warfare must be based on the victories of Christ. This warfare is battle is an ancient battle for the kingdom and is spoken prophetically in Nahum 1. This chapter speaks of God’s indignation against Nineveh, which is the capital city of Assyria. The beginning and founder of Nineveh was Nimrod. He was the beginning of men trying to take over the World and reject God. God had been patient with Nineveh so much so that He coerced Jonah to preach to them and they repented, Jonah 1-3. Jesus came into the world and many repented, but now it looks like the kings of the earth and many take counsel against the Lord and also His church.
A type of our current warfare is seen in Judges 4 and 5. Israel was in severely oppressed by Sisera and lived in terror of the Midianites until Deborah arose. When the Lord was going to make His descent to war against His enemies, the first command given to the captains of Israel, was to go up to mount Tabor with ten thousand men, Judges 4:6. In our days, the people whom the Lord will use to fight this final conquest are mountain dwellers. Deuteronomy 33:2-3 speaks of the Lords descent with ten thousands of His saints. Habakkuk 3:3 also captures this saying the Lord came with much glory and strength. The number 10,000 is a symbolic number, not a literal one. These same people are described through out the bible in different ways. Daniel 7:13-14 shows that when the Lord comes to take over the Kingdoms of this world, He comes in the cloud of heaven. Psalm 104:3 says that these clouds are His Chariots. Psalm 68:34 also says that the strength of the Lord is in the clouds.
What or who are these clouds?
The clouds here are not literal, seeing that the bible describes the clouds as God’s chariot and strength. They are a collection of faithful believers through all the ages, from Adam till now as Hebrews 12:1 says. They are the symbolic ten thousands that the Lord comes with. Revelations 14:1-4 describes them as 144,000 upon mount Zion who follow the lamb wherever he goes. These clouds serve various purposes in the body. They are God’s instruments of warfare. In Revelations 19:14, they are described as the armies of heaven, His chariot for the day of battle. His battle axe to root out and destroy and break to pieces the nations. They are also instruments of harvest as seen in Revelations 14:14 and Mark 13:26-27. These clouds also give direction and guidance to God’s people, Exodus 13:21, Numbers 9:15-23.
The final conquest is one that is fought from the heavens. It is fought by these symbolic clouds from whom God’s power and splendour will be revealed. However, to be a part of this cloud and be gathered up to the clouds, we cannot be on the earth or carnally minded. Like the command to Barak and the ten thousands in Judges 4, we need to make our ascent up the mountain into the clouds, as Moses did, Exodus 24:18. We climb this mountain in the secret place, when we pray and spend time with the Lord. Being at this heights gives us a different perspective of the battle fought against the Lord and His anointed. Those who are on the earth only see an enemy raging and waring, but those in the heavens (heavenly minded) have a much greater insight and rejoice and laugh because the enemy was cast out of heavens, Psalm 2. Be numbered among the clouds of heaven, Beloved! Get up the mountain!
Prayer for the today: Holy and Righteous Father, I worship you because I know that though the heathen rage against your heritage, your church, and it seems we are getting tight pressed day by day, You are perfectly in control. Lord You encouraged us to switch locations from the earth and ascend up the hill to deeper and higher heights in You. Help me to be diligent to this call and not slothful, knowing that there isn't much time to waste. Help me to always keep my mind and eyes in the heavens!
