A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And fools will not wander on it.

Job asked a question in Job 14:4 ,“Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one! “. This had been a question in the heart of man after being cast out of the presence of a Holy God. God’s holiness can be likened to the Sun. From millions of miles away, we can feel the heat so intently that men die from it, yet it is the major thing that supports life on the planet. God’s love, wrath, mercy, justice and all God’s attributes flow from His holiness. His desire is that His holiness will be seen in all creation, such that everything will cry ‘Holy’. The pursuit of God since the fall of man is to have a way for this Holy God to dwell among sinful and unclean humans. He is the only one who could and did answer the question of Job.
When man fell, he took up the very nature of satan. Man did not become simply a sinner but sin itself. This was the reason for Job’s question. No man could do this, but only Only God has the power, the ability and the resources to bring out cleanliness out of the unclean. He has made us Holy. This is why Paul can call us Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, in Hebrews 3:1. Holiness has become the house of God, which we are. Understand this beyond all doubt that you are Holy, Beloved. Ezekiel 43:12 shows that the whole portion of the house is Holy, everything, is to be Holy. Everything about us, including our children, and all that pertains to us has been made Holy. Holiness is the law of the house of the Lord. When we know this and internalize this in our Spirit, it will direct our affairs in every area of our lives, our relationship with Him and with our brethren.
God chose us, imparted us with His nature of Holiness and gave us the gift of righteousness. Righteousness is the right to rule. It is imparted on you by coming into the household of faith. Holiness is by birth. You cannot be Holy any other way. We are made partakers of his Holiness. However, righteousness is inputed as a result of your faith exercise, Romans 4:22-24. You cannot separate the two, they are interwoven. The more conscious you are of your Holiness in Him, the more of His righteousness you exhibit. Satan’s major ministry as an accuser is to keep the truth of our Holiness from us. If a person prays all the time, fasts and goes to church and does not understand this truth, satan is not much bothered. Why? Because he knows that the true power that will eradicate his influence and position and ultimately bound him forever are with those who walk in the Spirit of Holiness. When Jesus was on earth, even the mere presence of Jesus would cause demons to screech and scream, because it was like coming close to the sun.
Jesus had just been declared to be the Son of God in Matthew 3:17 and in Matthew 4:1-44, satan began each temptation by saying “If you are the son of God”. The aim was to cause Him to doubt His status as a son of God. He will do everything to keep this knowledge away from you and also to soil your garment. We will discuss more on this and how to maintain our holiness status in tomorrows meditation. However, remember that because God alone is the sole source of Holiness, we CANNOT do anything to be holy. Satan often deceives people by saying that they need to do a fast or pray for 40 days to be holy. Beloved, none of these matter, because you are already Holy. You need to come into the consciousness of this. As you do so, the light of this holiness becomes brighter and brighter every day.
Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, thank you for your sacrifice on the cross that has reconciled me to God, making me Holy and blameless before You in Love. May the eyes of my understanding be opened today to comprehend my estate as Holy. Then, I will walk in this Royal and Divine estate, according to the Spirit of Holiness and living to praise of the glory of Your grace.
