169 – They must first be tested – VIII

And first, let them be tested; then, if they prove themselves blameless, let them be appointed.

1 timothy 3:10 (CJB)

Today, we are continuing on the meditation we began, exploring different tests or trials that we may face as believers. Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the LORD rescues him from them all – Psalm 34:19.

The Loving Test: Genesis 45. (Loving the Unlovely)

This test occurs — when you find yourself surrounded by people that drive you crazy. These people could also be in the body in of Christ, your family, coworkers, Neighbours, etc. Not everybody is going to think, speak, and act the way you want them to. But by God’s design, He will use these irritating “human sandpapers” in your life to smooth away your own rough edges.

Passing this test – means not only learning to get along with your irritants but also learning to love them. Love is defined as suffering long with these and remaining kind, not keeping a record of wrong and the other characteristics listed in 1 Corinthians 13. Anyone who will be a minister in God’s house should always allow God to use people to sandpaper their character. Meditate on God’s love for you and God’s nature and let this love flow out towards all around you, Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:8.

The Disloyalty Test: Luke 22:48, Psalm 55:12-14

Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: “The one I kiss is the man; arrest him and lead him away under guard. ” 45 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, “Rabbi!” and kissed him (Mk 14:44,45).

This test occurs – when people you love and/ or have invested tum their back on you. Just as Judas betrayed Jesus, as a leader you will eventually be rejected and get hurt. Getting angry and bitter, giving up, and feeling we can’t trust anyone are common reactions, but not the right reactions for a Child of God, especially one who ministers to His brethren.

Passing this test – requires a loving heart and thick skin. How you choose to respond is everything, because it’s not what happens to you that defeats you, but your wrong response to what happens. Realize that without Judas, the Lord Jesus would never have gotten to the cross, and without the cross, there would have been no resurrection and no salvation for mankind. The Judas’ in your life are sometimes necessary to the fulfillment of your Kingdom Purpose and Destiny.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus thank you for loving me when I was unlovable. While I was yet filthy and rebellious, a sinner, You died for me. Father, let this truth sink within me deeply that I may extend your love, grace, and mercy to those around me who may irritate me or hurt me deeply. Help me to suffer long and be kind as you suffered long and remained kind to me. Teach me to love like You do, Amen.

Blessings Beloved 👋
