Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 4:10 kjv
God is the one and only true God, a great King. He made all things for to reveal His splendour and give Him glory, including man. This is the whole duty of man. The book of Esther captured a living parable of a great king and his subjects in the Persian empire. This King in the third year after receiving the Kingdom decided to throw a feast for all people. In this feast, He decided to showcase His most valued treasure, which was his wife, Vashti (meaning beautiful). However, due to rebellion and pride, she did not come. This greatly displeased the king. He was furious and stripped her off all authority and the estate he had given her. After his anger had subsided, his servants said to Him,
Esther 2:2,4 KJV
Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king: [4] And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so.
The King only does what pleases Him. And so in Esther 2, the search for the new queen began with a few criteria: She must be a virgin, she was beautiful and she pleased the king. In terms of the beauty, the King provided for all that would make her beautiful. There were six months of myrrh and six months of sweet spices to prepare all the virgins. However, only one will become the queen and the others will need to be worked on again in the house of the concubines and may or may never see the king again. Regardless, they would all be subject to the queen. Esther became the queen; she stood out in her choices. The major difference between her and Vashti was not in beauty or that she was a virgin, but that Esther displayed meekness where Vashti displayed pride. Where every virgin would choose what they wanted to go to the king, Esther, deferred her choice to the King’s chamberlains who were instructed to prepare her to meet the king. She never did anything by her own wisdom or counsel.
These things were written for us, upon whom the end of the world is come, 1 Corinthians 10:11. The bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6. In our case there was a bride before us this bride was the old covenant. Not that the covenant was bad, but Hebrews 8:7-8 Said God had a fault with those who served under the law. These make up the Jerusalem below and the observers of the law, Galatians 4:22-31. What will make a believer to fall out of grace in this time is not necessarily what they do, but over dependence on the law to get righteousness. Righteousness is a right standing with God and a right to rule). Under the old covenant, righteousness is a reward. However, in the new covenant, the righteousness is a gift, Romans 5:17. If we take this as a reward, it is no longer reckoned to us as a gift. The fault with the Old covenant was that the they depended on their works. Our King has already provided all that we need to please Him and part of this is faith. It is a fruit of the Spirit as Galatians 5:22-24. What does this mean? It means that as we interact with Word of God and His Spirit (Which are a type of the Chamberlains), faith is being formed in us.
Whose faith? Paul said in: Galatians 2:20-21 KJV
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. [21] I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
It is the faith of the Son of God, not our faith, that made Jesus pleasing to God at all times. It is also by His faith that we were accepted in Him, the beloved. This does not disregard works, because faith without works is dead. The proof that we believe, is that we do the works He did. The work of God is to believe and obey, John 6:29. Faith is not name it and claim it. Contrary to popular opinion, confessing is not receiving; Obedience is receiving. The work is the work of faith expressed by an obedience to God’s command.
We are in a selection process for all those who will become the bride of Christ and reign with Him forever. Yet, the command has gone out, that it is the virgin hearted ( single eyed and devoted) believers, being beautified with the beauty of Christ who please the King of Kings, by displaying the faith of God received via their interaction with the Word and Spirit, that will be queen and reign forever.
Prayer for today: Thou art Worthy o Lord to receive Glory, Honour and power, For I was created for your pleasure. For your pleasure I exist and will live continually. Father, may I please You always, living by the faith of the Son of God. All that are Christ's have crucified the flesh, which was at constant enmity with You. I choose to live today and always by the faith of Jesus who loved me and gave Himself for me. Help me always to please You in Jesus name. Amen
