Psalm 143:10 (KJV)
“Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God: Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.”
It is very important to follow the leading of the Spirit. We cannot fulfil God’s purpose and plan for our lives according to His specifications without following the leading of the Holy Spirit. It is one thing to know the plan of God for our lives, and it is an entirely different thing to know and follow His specifications (how He wants you to carry out the plan). It is also important to understand that God does not lead us by trial and error — for a life of trial and error is miserable. God is all-knowing and all-seeing, take advantage of God’s leading.
God takes pleasure in leading us, His children. It is the Father’s pleasure to lead us and to teach us His ways. Therefore, it is illegal for a child of God to experience feelings of helplessness, frustration, anxiety, hopelessness in decision making, etc. The believer should never not know what to do in ministry, career, business, relationships. We carry God within us, and we have the Spirit of God in us.
In Luke 24:25 –27, we see Jesus expounded unto them (two of His disciples) in all the scriptures things concerning Himself from Genesis to Malachi (what the prophets said) that Christ would suffer and enter into glory. Jesus opens up the scriptures, and we see Him. And in Christ’s suffering and entering into glory, we see ourselves. It defines the entire human race. Christ would suffer, die, be buried, rise again from the dead and will give to us His Spirit — the indwelling of the Spirit in us. Hallelujah!
God now tabernacles with man. He no longer dwells in temples made with hands! He lives inside of us. He has given us His Spirit, which is to us for sanctification, wisdom, deliverance, forgiveness, eternal life. This is the first step in following the leading of the Spirit — knowing and understanding that the Holy Spirit dwells in you as a child of God. To be continued…
Prayer for today:
Lord Jesus, thank You for who You are and what You’ve done for me. Thank You for suffering on my behalf. Thank You for dying. Thank You for resurrecting on the third day. Thank You for entering into glory. For in doing all these, You have reconciled me back to my Father, the creator of the heavens and the earth. Thank You for being the sacrifice; thank You for saving me; because for this very reason the Holy Spirit now lives inside me and can lead me and reveal to me the mind of God. I am so grateful because the Holy spirit (You) lives inside of me. I am no longer hopeless, anxious or fearful when it comes to decision making because You lead me. Thank You, Jesus.
