He did so by a promise, to reinstate the enmity between the woman and the serpent and by promising the ultimate victory of dominion via a seed who will crush the head of the serpent, Genesis 3:15. While we can notice a physical application of this to the woman, based on the seemingly one-sided rage of the enemy against the woman folk throughout history, this has a greater implication on the bride of the new Adam, Christ, Ephesians 5:28-33. For the longest time, this rage seemed one sided and in the life of many believers it is. There are believers who are either willfully ignorant of the enemies of their soul or afraid of the enemy and liaise/ negotiate with him. Again, it is not possible to subdue and therefore have dominion over something you do not consider an enemy.

In essence, they repeated what the blood of Jesus spoke on their behalf, that they are redeemed (recovered as God's possession, restored to true honour and dignity and set free) by the blood of Jesus. An aspect of redemption is an overturning of a judgement. Reuben committed a sin that brought great repercussion on his life, when he slept with his fathers concubine, Genesis 35:22. As a result of this, Jacob cursed him that he shall not excel, Genesis 49:3-4. However, Moses in Deuteronomy 33:6, stood as a type of our great shepherd. Moses said “Let Reuben live and not die” and where it was said he shall not excel, Moses said “Let his men not be few” this means let Ruben multiply and prosper. In the same way the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
