Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! [25] All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 NLT
An athlete like Usain Bolt, who does trainings for the 100 Metre race, would begin to train and practice from 4 years before the time. His diets change. The way he sleeps, the exercises he needs to go through for 4 years are often rigorous. All these are for a 10 seconds race. Usain has to embrace a certain kind of lifestyle that will enable him to obtain a prize. People who strive for mastery must learn to be temperate in all things. The word, temperate means to exercise self restraint (in diet and chastity). This involves restraint in your morals, diet, in all things. Ours is for an incorruptible crown.
