According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: [4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Jesus called God His Father. Nobody dared call God their Father. Even Moses with all His Glory could not do that. The implication of this statement was that He was equal with God. Israel knows that God is a king, they also knew that a King rules with His princes. While the King rules, the Princes run the affairs of the Kingdom. A son has a right to sit with God on the throne to rule. These are Mature Sons, those who mind the bidden of the Father.
