Grace Redefined – 4

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

1 John 2:1 NKJV

1 John 2:1 says , My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. This is a preventive grace; it is given on the premise of obedience. This was what helped Jesus live above sin, while in the flesh. The verse then says “And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”. There is also the curing grace, which picks a person up when they sin. It is given on the premise of true repentance.
